My name is Paige Tinsman. I am a sophomore at Tarleton State University and I am making this blog for my English 112 class. This blog is aimed at current or future college students who think they may be interested in majoring in psychiatry. Psychiatry is the medical specialty that is concerned with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of mental illness.
Forensic psychiatrists work with courts to determine if a individual is competent to stand trial, and if they have a defense based on mental diseases. They also can give sentencing recommendations.
