My name is Paige Tinsman. I am a sophomore at Tarleton State University and I am making this blog for my English 112 class. This blog is aimed at current or future college students who think they may be interested in majoring in psychiatry. Psychiatry is the medical specialty that is concerned with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of mental illness.
Many people don't know the difference between a psychologist and a psychiatrist. Often they are thought of as the same things. This web page explains the differences between the two and how these differences effect the treatment of patients.
